Atelier Mínima
LÍVIA STEFANI is the artist behind the creations of ATELIER MÍNIMA. Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism, it was in 2016 that she left the real estate market to follow a more organic path within architecture. The investigations and discoveries of this process led to the creation of Mínima Estúdio, still linked to architecture, but already very much focused on design and the creation of objects. It wasn't long before, in 2017, the studio became an atelier, now entirely dedicated to ceramic art.
The constant transit between the worlds of art, design and handicrafts happens spontaneously, and she sees the process of making ceramics as the key to getting to know herself and the world. The artist works with form as a primordial language and searches for the poetics of her works in the complexities of the creative process. Today, she explores themes such as the feminine, the word as an instrument of voice-expression and memory in artist's books. In parallel, she studies ceramics at UFSJ, where she learns techniques, explores languages and improves her skills; she is also a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program in Arts, Urbanities and Sustainability - PIPAUS/UFSJ, interested in studies on ceramic production and creative processes, especially collective creation as a substance of the social fabric.
Atelier Mínima, currently located in São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais, is a small studio where original ceramics are produced. It is an inaugural space-manifesto, a place dedicated to experimentation and creation in ceramics; a fusion between the love of creation and handicraft. This place was made minimal by the search for what is essential, and in its trajectory it has permeated the universe of wearable arts, with ceramic jewelry, and art objects. At the moment, the minimum also manifests itself in the material production of the atelier, not only in the size of the pieces, but also in the value attributed to each detail; in the creation of a ceramic poetry that is capable of awakening our gaze through singular beauties.
