ORGANIC AND DYNAMIC

Adriana Lopes
ADRIANA LOPES holds a degree in fine arts from UFJF and developed and refined her ceramic work while serving as a substitute professor of ceramics at the university where she graduated. From there, she set up her studio and has been pursuing this path for over twenty years. She also taught at UFRN in Natal while living there. She has worked with various techniques, held exhibitions, and participated in fairs and events such as Feira Craft, Abup, and Gift.
At her current studio in Juiz de Fora, she offers courses and workshops, and has focused on creating designer pieces, introducing the local market to new possibilities and a broader perspective on ceramics. She also serves the food service industry, developing exclusive pieces for restaurants, bistros, and cafés.
In 2021, she set up part of her studio in the community of São José dos Lopes, at the foot of the Ibitipoca mountain range, also in Minas Gerais, with a focus on building a local identity and reviving traditional crafts. The project is based at Casa do Sol, in partnership with other embroidery and basketry initiatives, and has been named Galpão Cerâmica.
