URBAN AND FLEXIBLE

A key feature of this unit is the flexibility of the layout, amplified by the presence of a screen that allows the space to be divided in different ways, providing privacy when necessary. The furniture is loose and modular and can be arranged according to the guest's preferences.

The featured work is by Dalton Carvalho, an artist from Juiz de Fora. His art moves between digital and analog, mixing different platforms to create works that explore themes such as cities, architecture, space and place. The contrast of cold and warm colors, in the color palette and materials, refers to the industrial language.

    Dalton Carvalho

DALTON CARVALHO was born in Nepomuceno, in the south of Minas Gerais, and has lived and worked in Juiz de Fora since 2005. An architect with a degree from UFJF, he is an illustrator and a specialist in electronic models and 3D design. He continues to research and produce art that flirts with architecture, urbanism, chaos and cities. He moves between digital and analog, mixing the two platforms in the production of his work.

In his work, he brings his background in architecture together with a complex urban social analysis. The power of organic and fractal chaos that we have found in his cities for some years now has incorporated the freshness of new research. Traditional maps are deconstructed in colors and movement that emulate universes that flex our empirical realism.

With works that range from digital to acrylic painting, his aesthetic runs the gamut between research into form and color and also into the feelings of large metropolises. The dichotomies between the grandiose urban spaces and our condition as individuals bring us reflections on contemporary lifestyles. City, chaos, color in a strong and contemporary mix of imagery. Dalton's works reflect a unique time and guide us through the chaos of cities that are more productive than human.
