Moinho and JF City Hall promote hackathon for technology projects in the areas of health and education
As an extension of the 1st Juiz de Fora Social Innovation Festival, held in November, Moinho and Juiz de Fora City Hall are promoting a hackathon on January 21 and 22, 2023, aimed at stimulating the creation of technology projects aimed at solving real problems in two economic areas that are pillars of sustainable development: health and education.
Resulting from the combination of the English words "hack" (to program in an exceptional way) and "marathon" (marathon), the event will be attended by teams made up of students, professionals and entrepreneurs. Registration is still open and can be done at https://hackathon.nossomoinho.com/.
"The teams that stand out the most will be invited to join the Moinho Innovation Hub community for six months, including access to coworking, events and lots of networking. The aim is for the projects to be validated in practice and, at the end of the semester, to be presented to possible investors," explains the manager of the Innovation Hub, Arthur Avelar.
Conversations with entrepreneurs, interaction with mentors, yoga and board games are all part of the program, which aims to stimulate creativity and protagonism among the participants. The solutions selected at the hackathon can be tested by the respective municipal health and education departments of Juiz de Fora, together with possible companies interested in validating them.
Among the mentors invited to the event are the managing partner of Ultrimagem, Anderson Mattozinhos, the IT coordinator of Laboratório Côrtes Villela, Roberto Fortuci, the co-founder of Smart Retail, Gustavo Oliveira, the Sebrae analyst, Daniela Fabri, and the planning management manager of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Débora Marques.
Insights were identified at an innovation festival
The insights behind the hackathon were identified during the 1st Juiz de Fora Social Innovation Festival, based on the demands and opportunities presented by speakers and the invited public.
The compilation will serve as input for the teams of developers, as well as the work of 40 students from the Engenheiro André Rebouças and Antônio Carlos Fagundes municipal public schools, both located in the North Zone, who reflected on the main problems they face, considering the areas of education and health, respectively.
