Moinho Talks connects leaders to generate transformation

On Tuesday, March 7, Moinho held the opening event of the "Moinho Talks" series, which is part of the activities of the Leadership for New Times program, developed by Moinho in partnership with Sebrae and aimed at managers and leaders of 12 small and medium-sized companies in the city, subscribers to the program. Michele Janovik, CEO of the innovation hub Base27, from Vitória (ES) and Rodrigo Schittini, CEO and founder of Guiando, from Juiz de Fora (MG) were invited to the launch and shared with the participants the "Secret of the New Economy", the theme of their presentation.

"I'm very happy to be here and to get to know the Moinho. It's a great environment for creativity, which is the first step towards innovation; it's how we can look at and transform our society. We can make many partnerships and connections, share our experiences," says Michele Janovik. "I have the feeling that this program will be sensational. It's been a long time since I've seen an initiative like this in Juiz de Fora, to bring knowledge to the teams and companies here. Our team will participate and bring this knowledge to the internal environment, benefiting from this innovative proposal," argues Rodrigo Schittini.

Guiando is a technology company that automates accounts payable and manages telecommunications costs for large corporations. At the event, Rodrigo Schitini spoke about Guiando's trajectory and highlighted the need for organizations to be connected to the ever-changing world. "The world has changed. In order for us not to lose our timing and be run over by other initiatives that come from outside and pass us by, we have to stay connected." According to him, having a program like this in Juiz de Fora is a significant step forward, as it is not always possible to provide employees with learning experiences outside the city. "Being able to bring our team to take part is something spectacular, especially because the model is a medium-term construction, it's not a one-off event, it involves different employees at different times and with relevant themes throughout the year," Schittini said.

Michele Janovik told us how Base27 connected with startups and sought the engagement of very traditional companies to think about innovation in a collaborative way with experience and learning. "We know that innovation doesn't happen overnight, it often takes a long time, but we can follow the evolution and the results and this makes total sense if we want to have a more prosperous life in the future," she explained. According to her, the Moinho program, in partnership with Sebrae, is right to involve leaders. "The leader has the fundamental role of sponsoring innovation within the organization. If they don't feel prepared or if they don't have access to trends and everything that's going on, it's difficult to understand how much the company can be impacted and it's difficult to understand why their own employees can't bring news, innovations and real transformations into the company. When leaders connect with innovation, they can engage the people in the organization so that they become agents of transformation," he adds.

Laiz Cruz, director of Herculano, a company that operates in the transportation of chemical, petrochemical, carbochemical, steel and bulk products, says that "the northern zone has a lot of potential. Our company is family-run, we've been here in the Santa Cruz district for 45 years, and it's very important for us to take part in this program to develop our people and bring more knowledge into the company."

For Nicolas Giffoni, CEO of the Institute of Education by Experience and Practice (IEEP), two reasons were decisive for the company's participation in the program, with expectations of success: "cutting-edge content and connections with relevant people and companies. This was missing in Juiz de Fora," he summed up.

Leadership for New Times

The Leadership for New Times program is a joint venture between Moinho and Sebrae to offer companies in the city and region the opportunity to train managers, leadership and middle management so that the organization is prepared to grow, seeking new levels of productivity and competitiveness.

In addition to the monthly meetings at Moinho Talks, in a chat format with relevant names from the city and the country, the 12 participating companies will have access to workshops by the leadership team on topics such as Design Sprint, Creativity, Agile Methodologies, Communication, Purpose, Sales, Resource Management, among others, totaling 76 hours of learning.
