Moinho is hosting the second edition of an event celebrating Innovation Day by bringing together the academic and industrial sectors

“Innovation Day: Connecting Education and Industry” will take place on October 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Espaço Conectar do Moinho, with free admission.

Following its success in 2023, the event returns for its second edition, this time focusing on the application of academic knowledge in the industrial sector. The goal is to strengthen the connection between these stakeholders and create an opportunity to share experiences, challenges, and perspectives, thereby fostering the development of innovative solutions.

The event is the result of a partnership between Moinho, IF Sudeste MG – Juiz de Fora Campus, Centro Industrial, the Industrial District Business Association, FIEMG, and SENAI. According to Annik Marôcco, Innovation Advisor at IF Sudeste MG – JF Campus, “this environment of collaboration between academia, business, and society underscores the importance of technology transfer and technical cooperation between IF Sudeste MG and the private sector, with the goal of helping companies modernize their processes and products, but also of solving practical problems in our community.”

This exchange between practical and academic knowledge will also make it possible to develop new research and technological solutions that address the real managerial and operational needs of the productive sector, thereby promoting the growth of the local economy.

Tarcísio Delão, President of the Association of Companies in the Juiz de Fora Industrial District, believes that the initiative highlights the city’s achievements and, by bringing together the fields of education and industry, can make Juiz de Fora a more competitive city.

The program includes lectures aimed at students, workshops on Industry 4.0 manufacturing processes, and presentations of case studies on innovation in the industrial sector.
